| dc.description.abstract | This report presents what took place during the 2022/2023 one-month practicum. The
practicum started on the 1st April 2023 and ended on the 30thApril 2023. It was carried out in
Kanyabeebe B LC1, Kanyabeebe Parish, Kanyabeebe Sub county, Kagadi district. Throughout
the practicum, the Intern worked with the local leaders of Kanyabeebe B, Faculty supervisor,
Epicentre manager, the host family and community members.
The visionary approach (VA), which examines one's desired end result and assesses the current
reality in relation to the vision, and structural tension, which is developed by holding the vision
and the current reality simultaneously and results in action steps, are some of the various
methods and tools that the intern used. Observation, participatory action research (PAR), home
visits, structural tension chart (STC), and interview are other methods that were used during
the practicum. Community action planning (CAP), another method, calls for actions to be taken
so as to achieve the identified aspirations of the community.
The Intern intervened at individual, family, group, and community levels by implementing
activities in line visionary approach, fundamentals of creative process and sustainable
development. She enabled the people of Kanyabeebe B LC1 to create a community vision and
actively participated in community development (CD) activities such as cleaning a water
source, constructing bathrooms, making dry racks, lolena stove construction, making and
fixing pit latrine doors in various homes. As an outcome of this process, sanitation and health
were enhanced at all levels. She also worked with different groups which included Kanyabeebe
Itambiro Group, Kanyabeebe Twegonze Group and Kanyabeebe Tweimukye Group. | en_US |
