| dc.description.abstract | This Community Based Participatory Action research fixated on accessibility to clean and safe water in Rwensenene A village. Access to safe and clean water is a fundamental human right yet Rwensenene A face significant challenges in meeting this essential resource. These included long distances, unreliable water sources, and ineffective local leaders, limited skills in cleaning water, poverty and congested water sources. The study embraced the analysis of objectives such as, to assess the status of water sources in Rwensenene A village, to improve access to clean and safe water sources and to find out the need for clean and safe water in Rwensenene A village. Comprehensive literature review on accessibility to clean and literacy skills were considered. The methods employed were descriptive and correlational research design, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods and tools. With a study of 390 people above 18 years, a sample of 195 respondents was selected using Morgan (2012) sampling method. Primary and secondary data were collected through methods including documentary review, in-depth interviews, participant observation, resource mapping, home visits and focus group discussions. Tools like an interview guide, transect walk and group discussion guide were used following a defined data collection procedure. The solutions were tinted and included cleaning water sources together as a community, boiling drinking water and constructing clean and safe water sources. Also, teamwork and opting for active local leaders were interventions in accessing clean and safe water. All water sources were worked upon by slashing, cleaning and repairing and all community members participated however this was not a solution to access safe and clean water. | en_US |
